Chintoor or Chinturu (చింతూరు) is a Mandal in Rampachodavaram Division, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh State. The district head quarter is Kakinada. With the formation of Telangana state in June 2014 Chintur mandal and the 15 Grama Panchayats (89 villages) of this mandal have been transferred to East Godavari District, AP. This mandal is comes under Agency, the Tribal or Interior area, ITDA Rampachodavarm is its head Quarter. Geo Coordinates:   17°44'50"N   81°23'55"E

Chinturu has an average elevation of 35 metres (118 ft). The Official Languages being used by the public in this Mandal are Telugu, Koya and Urdu. Bhadrachalam, Papi Hills, Rajahmundry, Konaseema and Kakinada are the tourist places nearby Chintur. Chintur Mandal is in Andhra Pradesh State having three other states Telangana, Chattisghad and Orissa as boarders. There is a village 7 Kms nearby Chintur, named KONTA which is a Tri-State junction (Andhra, Orissa and Chattisghad).

Sileru River is dividing Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. Sileru River is a tributary of Sabari River. It originates in Andhra Pradesh and also flows through Odisha before merging with Sabari. Sabari river crosses the border into Andhra Pradesh to merge with Godavari river the second largest river in India. This Mandal may not be in the population map as it is going to submerged by waters of the Polavaram project.
